TAD: Colourful June: Pink

Linking up with Rain's Thursday Art Date.

This one combines TAD with one of the lessons from my photography course. My offering is an exercise in color saturation with the focus on pink.

Pink petunias from light to dark is certainly a great way to explore pink. I like it.

Thank you Erika! Usually, I want my color editing to be as close to what my eye sees as possible. But Rain's Art Date seems like the perfect opportunity to do something more artsy with my photographs.

Beautiful pink flowers I enjoy playing with colours, too. Hugs, Valerie

Oh I love how you removed and added the pink. Perfect for this theme. Have a great day.

Valerie, another color lover! Yay! Rain's themes this month are perfect for that. :)

Nicole, I'm getting far enough in my photography course that I can combine the creative stuff I'm learning with Rain's TAD. Very fun!

Serena and Christine, thank you!

So cool, Leigh! Thanks for illustrating color saturation. bI want to check out your posts on photography. Is that okay? Or is there a fee for the posts? I'm an amateur photographer, and with my vision I have to use a point and shoot Canon. I do like to play with simple editing in Apple's Photos. Have a great weekend!

Impressive ... you clearly have a handle on saturation.

That's lovely Leigh...and not only that, your photography course is wonderful. I wish you had more exposure there because you are offering great information on photography! I'm not one to read manuals (gawd forbid lol)...but there are settings on my camera that I have not touched, and Alex got me that camera back in 2014!!! I'll be browsing through your course, thank you for offering that! I'll plug your course next week!

Andrea, I love that I can use Rain's TAD prompts to further explore my photography lessons. Very fun!

Rain, why thank you! Learning how to fully use a digital camera is a huge undertaking, and I confess I wasn't getting very far without some structure. Emma Davis' course has given me that structure and I'm learning a lot! Anyone can sign up at any time! For folks on Instagram, she as pages to participate with the homework. I just decided to use this blog, since I'm not on Instagram.

I was here late Thursday and got a message that m comment failed to publish and try later. I tried early Friday morning and got the same message. Now I'm back and hoping 3rd time is a charm.

I was in awe of the way you changed the saturation and color balance in that photo. I checked out your lesson and it is all Greek to me. When my friend built my computer, he installed Gimp, even though I have Photoshop I asked him to install. Gimp was easy for him, so I suspect he thought I would prefer it, too. Not so. I have heard of RAW, but am not familiar with it.

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge of photography. I took two photo classes as an undergrad: one on B & W and one on color. Mostly, we worked on darkroom developing, which is now obsolete.

Please blogger, let this publish.

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry you've been having trouble commenting! Blogger has had so many quirks lately that it's often frustrating. I'm glad you made it now!

Thank you for your kind words! I got my new camera for Christmas and the photography course has really opened up a bunch of doors for me. I'm used to Gimp, so that's what I use. I think whatever we get used to is what we like best. The Raw is new though, but my camera can shoot in Raw, so I'm giving it a go!

Fundy Blue, my apologies. I just found your comment. Blogger had it as spam but didn't tell me. Another blogger glitch!

I'm not sure what you mean by a fee. The photography course I recommend is A Year With My Camera. It's free, online, you can sign up at any time, and you can work at your own pace. You will have some limitations with a point-and-shoot, but you can still learn the concepts and practice what you learn!

Thanks, Leigh! I thought it was your course. Now I get it. I'm going to check it out. Have a good one!

Back again, Leigh. I saw you have a homestead, so I'll be sure to come back and see that. I'm a suburban creature, but I'm fascinated with the way people solve problems on a homestead (Thanks to Rain and the Raney's on Homestead Rescue." You certainly have cute baby goats.

You're welcome! The course is well written and teaches a lot.

I'm glad you enjoyed my baby goats! They are always a highlight this time of year. So cute and so much fun.
