Maybe a more accurate term is bands of color rather than stripes. I am photographing bands of color as presented by the clouds, the sunrise, and the landscape. Not that bands aren't stripes, but I find myself making a distinction for the design process and how I might translate them into weaving.

All great, Leigh. I love how you included the daffodils and garden on the last one. I would not have thought of that as a "stripe" in Nature.
TB, what I'm realizing is that there are very few straight lines in nature. That's not a surprise, I suppose, but it's got me thinking about how to translate the bands of color in my photos, into actual fiber arts projects.
I really like that last photo too. Somehow it's just pleasing to look at. It's not strictly a natural arrangement of stripes, but it's me working with nature so I'm willing to bend my own rules a bit. :)
