The theme for Rain's Thursday Art Date this week is silver and gold. Since
I've been doing the "colourful June" series with photos of flowers and garden,
I admit I was stumped about silver and gold. I usually think of these as
metallic colors, although with flowers, golden yellow is sometimes called
gold, or silver grey is sometimes called silver.
After some pondering, I decided to exercise some artistic license and
interpret silver and gold metaphorically. So, I present to you, my homestead silver
and gold.

Compost is truly garden gold.
|
|
Homegrown eggs and milk.
|
|
The garden. |
|
The fruit of our labors. |
|
Winter warmth. |
Honestly? These things are worth more to me than money in the bank.
These are our homestead silver and gold.

Enjoyed your post, before moving out of the woods, I did allot of canning and we heated only with wood for years with two woodstoves-loved the whole process of that

Love your metaphorical take!
A very nice post and I love your take on the silver and gold.
Love your artistic take on silver and gold- fab photos!
This is a great take on the challenge. Nice photos!
Love your metaphorical take on silver and gold, Leigh! I enjoy seeing seeing how people homestead. I had no idea it was such a big movement until I started watching "Homestead Rescue" with the Raney's in Alaska. I don't have a garden. I like to travel too much. But I enjoy other people's gardens vicariously. Have a lovely weekend!
Your interpretations are absolutely valid Leigh! And all of those represent true, usable wealth.
Well done, Leigh. You put everything into perspective and indeed, there are many things in our lives that are our gold and silver. Love your metaphor ...
